Restoring 2001 Cobalt 262

I got my eyes on a used 2001 Cobalt 262 for a very good price. It sure has cosmetic issues in the hull, deck, and interior but I wouldn't say they're structural damage. I took it was for a lake test and everything worked fine. But before I finalize my purchase, I'd like to get an idea how easy it is to restore an old boat like this. What other components should I check or consider? And just in case a more serious issue comes up, how difficult is it to get parts for replacement or have it serviced? I just want to understand what I'm getting myself into so I'd appreciate getting tips and insights!

For a 2001 boat, engine parts (Mercruiser, Volvo Penta, etc.) are generally easy to find because they're common. but cobalt specific parts (like dash panels, interior pieces, unique hardware) can be trickier.
You might need to go aftermarket or scour salvage yards. Servicing the engine and outdrive is standard for any marine mechanic. The difficulty comes with custom Cobalt pieces, or if you uncover major hull/stringer issues

A 2001 Cobalt 262 is definitely restorable if the damage is mostly cosmetic. Just make sure to check the engine, drive, wiring, fuel system and look for any water damage or soft spots in the hull and deck. Parts are usually still available, though some might take time or cost more. Finding a good mechanic who knows older boats helps a lot too. Its doable but expect some work and expenses, just be clear on what you're signing up for before buying.
